It has the Edison United Phonograph Company Trademark Logo and then the following Patents: Switzerland No 4348, No 4371, No 4372 all dated Sept 8th 1891.
I am assuming that this is a very early commercial machine. It has terminal points, on/off and a lever with ‘Stop, Large, Small & Shaving’ on.
It came with some cylinders of musical instrument solos which look like one off recordings (not included).
The machine has a wooden base with a drawer on the side and a metal cover. The metal cover has a transfer on which reads “The Edison Bell Phonograph”. The lock for the lid latch to lock in has been unscrewed from the base as there is no key to undo the lock. The machine with its lid on measures approx 40cm x 26cm x 32cm, it looks a similar size to an Edison Home Phonograph.
