Twelve Edwardian dinner plates. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York, ca 1916. Each: Plain circular well and four curved sides with double-scroll corners. Chased and engraved ornament: Fluid leaf set in scrolling-leaf frame alternating with quatrefoil leaf over stippled lunettes. Rosette-inset guilloche rim. Engraved armorial with Latin motto “Patriis virtutibus”. A suitably aristocratic sentiment for such a sumptuous set.
Fully marked including director’s letter m (first produced in 1916).
