EARLY COLORADO RAILROAD HISTORY
Prairie Wind Antiques is pleased to offer this rare railroad lantern, found in a Wyoming estate.
It is being sold exactly as found. All I did was dust it and clean the outside of the globe.
I have not opened or disassembled it.
It is an Adams and Westlake lantern, patented May 28, 1895.
The frame is marked F & C.C.R.R for the Florence and Cripple Creek Railroad.
There is a small metal plate on the frame with the number 242 on it, perhaps an inventory, workman, or engine number?
The globe is embossed C.S.& C.C.D. for the Colorado Springs and Cripple Creek District Railway.
