Vintage Selmer Mark VI Alto Saxophone. The serial number is 81,2XX which falls into THE BEST serial number range for all Mark VI's. The original lacquer is that wonderful dark honey gold, & is near 100%. The only lacquer wear is a little on the left hand palm keys, the right hand pinky low Eb & C keys, the right hand side Bb,C, & E keys, the left thumb octave key, & a bit inside the lower bell (the players side). There are no solders (not even the common low Eb key guard), no dents or dings (not even the most miniscule), & no acid bleeds. All of the mother of pearl key touches are like brand new. It was played enough to take the sharpness off of the edge of the pearls & that's about it (very low miles!).Even the lacquer on the left hand pinky table shows no wear. The rods are all in great original shape & absolutely no swedging was done. The engraving is sharp & is picture perfect. It is a one owner horn. The dark blue in the "S" is still totally intact on the neck's octave key where you can see the original factory lacquer coating on it.The neck is in superb condition as well & has the matching serial number on it.This horn is fresh off of the bench & has been completely overhauled where it received countless hours of TLC.Black Roos were used (with the exception of the Low B key because it felt a bit too stiff to me) as well as solid brass, screw backed reusable resonators on every key. After many play tests, I was satisfied, & I am about the most meticulous pro player you will ever run into.Everything must be perfect.
